The Heard Museum

On Saturday morning we took Audrey to the Heard Museum in McKinney.  They have a dinosaur exhibit going on now thru the end of January so we wanted to take her before it got too cold.  We took a nature hike to view all of the dinosaurs.  Every time we stopped to view a dinosaur Audrey would wave and smile at them when they let out a big roar.  She had fun walking around and looking at all the animals.  Some of the animals were not out because the temperatures are not cold enough yet for them to be outdoors.  She especially liked watching the Wallaroos hop around!  She also really loved the butterfly garden they were preparing for this Spring.  Once we had finished our walk we stopped and had a picnic lunch before heading home.  She was asleep before we made it out of the parking lot!

Little Chef

Audrey loves being in the kitchen with me so when I decided to make muffins today I let her help.  She loves helping me.  She gets the biggest smile on her face when she brings me things and I say Thank you Audrey!  She runs off and finds something else to bring me!  She 'tries' (I use that term loosely ;) to help me with laundry, and she loves when I hold her in the kitchen so she can see everything that's going on.  I'm used to cooking one-handed now.  Tonight I mastered the art of washing both hands while still holding her in my arms.  Now that's a skill! Anyway.....we made muffins together and we had a great time!  Here are a  few pictures.

I showed her how to put the paper cups in the pan and then handed them to Aaron.
She put each cup in all on her own.

Halloween & 15 months

Last week Aaron's company hosted a halloween party for all the kids of the employees.  I dressed Audrey in her butterfly costume and we went to daddy's work to play games, eat popcorn and cookies, and trick or treat around the office.  It was fun to see where Aaron worked and meet all of his co-workers.  The halloween party was in the company cafeteria and they had cookie decorating, fun science shows, games, and balloon animals!  After we finished there everyone set out to trick or treat around the offices.  Aaron works on a campus of several buildings so we drove over to his building and met his co-workers and Audrey came home with a pretty nice bag of candy (if I do say so myself! ;)  She didn't eat any but she did have a cookie at the party ;)

here she is with her flower balloon

On Friday night our community group friends got together for another Halloween party and since this party required all 3 of us to dress in costumes we decided to go as the Spartan Cheerleaders from Saturday Night Live.  The costumes were easy to make!  And I made Audrey's tutu myself, it was so easy!  We did karaoke at the party and Audrey wanted to be up front singing with all the other girls.  She stood up there with me the whole time and danced and laughed.  We had a lot of fun!  Thanks Matt & Jill for hosting such a fun party!

On Saturday night we stayed home and handed out halloween candy.  We had a lot of cute kids come to the door and Audrey was my helper at handing out the candy.  She wanted to empty the candy bowl one piece of candy at a time and then put them all back in the bowl one at a time.  This child has patience!  (she gets it from her daddy ;)

This morning we played at My Gym and then this afternoon was Audrey's 15 month well visit.

Here she waiting for the doctor!  She looks like she's saying 'Mom! I'm not decent, put the camera away!'  :)
We had a great visit and but left in tears because of the shots.  We are on a very modified vaccination schedule so she usually doesn't get a shot at most visits.  She got over it pretty quick today though!  She weighs 20lbs 1ounce which is in the 10th percentile and 31.5 inchs tall which is 70th percentile.

She's becoming such a big girl and learning so many new things every day.  She's so sweet and we are wonderfully blessed to be her parents!

Big Orange Pumpkin Patch 2009

We finally made it out to the pumpkin patch this past weekend.  It was hard to belive that it's been a year since we first took Audrey to that same pumkin patch when she was only 2 months old.  Time goes by so fast!!

20lbs

I went to get my nails done this afternoon and when I got home this is how Aaron was entertaining Audrey.  She was loving it!  Can you believe she fits in her diaper bag?  ;)

Little Butterfly

Audrey tried on her Halloween costume tonight to make sure it still fits.  I ordered it about a month ago but she's definitely taller since then.  I think she just may be the cutest little butterfly I've ever seen ;)  We're going to our church's Fall Festival this weekend so she gets to wear her costume a few times.  It has pink tights to match so she will be wearing those with the costume, instead of the house shoes! ;)

Loving FALL

We have really enjoyed the cool fall weather this week. Audrey has enjoyed playing outside more than ever. She loves being outdoors! In fact, when she was a tiny baby I used to take her outside when she was fussy and she would stop crying almost immediately. She loves her new slide and playhouse and she will sit on the bench inside and have her afternoon snack almost every afternoon this week. She can go down the slide all by herself now and loves when I say 'weeeeee' while she slides down, then she stands up and claps. It's really cute! Her favorite food right now is her steamed vegetables and sometimes she won't eat any of her other food until she's finished all of her vegetables. Aaron and I just laugh since neither of us have ever been like that! When I put her food on the table she will say 'Hot' and blow on her vegetables. She's getting much better with her spoon and is a pro at using a fork. She loves her milk also and walks over to the fridge and signs 'milk' when she's thirsty. I've started putting her milk and juice sippy cups on the lower shelf of the fridge so that when I open the door for her she can reach them. The other day I opened the door for her and then walked over to the sink, when I turned around I saw that in a matter of seconds she had emptied a tub of butter on the floor!! She's fast! Luckily, it only got on her pant leg and was very easy to clean ;) She has started pointing to everything saying 'That?' so I will tell her what 'that' is called. She's such a sweet and fun little girl! We've also been waiting on the rain to go away so we can visit the local pumpkin patch. Hopefully I will be posting pictures of that soon! Here are a few pictures....
