11 months
Audrey turned 11 months old this past Sunday. I can't believe my baby girl is almost 1 year old. We've already started planning her 1st birthday and it seems like only yesterday we were waiting for her arrival into this world. I remember this time last year I was so ready for her to be here! I was SO pregnant, it was miserably hot outside, and the only shoes I could squeeze my feet into were flip flops. I never knew at the time that my feet would swell twice as much after she was born! But we just couldn't wait to have her in our arms and finally see that sweet face. This past year has been the best year of our life. We love this little girl so much and are so blessed to be her parents.

The other day Audrey found this pacifier in her toy box and put it in her mouth and it's been there ever since. I'm going to have to do something about this and FAST before she gets attached to it! She hasn't wanted a pacifier since she was 3 months old.

A bit of randomness....
First, I think these have to be the cutest pigtails I have ever seen in my life! Audrey's hair is starting to grow a lot faster. I think we still have a little way to go though! ;)
Second, we had a great day yesterday celebrating Aaron's first Father's Day. The day consisted of Breakfast, Church, Naptime (for Audrey), Swimming at the grandparents house, and a relaxing evening at home with brownies and ice cream! Happy Father's Day Sweetie! You are the most wonderful father. You are so loving and patient with Audrey and she loves her daddy so much!

And this is a picture of what is now the playroom:
Obviously, it needs color! We were thinking green and if you look at the back wall you will see a sample of the shade of green we're thinking about using. And we are planning on painting just this wall, no others, like an accent wall. But I'm not to sure about this color green now mostly because this room is located across from our dining room which is painted a Merlot color and I don't want the 2 rooms to clash. So, this is where I need help! Any color or design recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, next on the list, I need help! Decorating help, that is. We have 2 living areas in our house, both downstairs. And until now, both have been decorated as living areas. But Audrey's toys have taken over and we were forced to convert one of the living areas to a play room.

My mom got this outfit for Audrey when she was 3 months old and it finally fits! Too cute!

getting creative....
I'm finally moving all of Audrey's bath stuff out of our bathroom and into her own bathroom, which was formerly a guest bathroom upstairs. Wow, the word bathroom 3 times in 1 sentence! ;) Anyway, this transition has given me an excuse to do a little redecorating. Nothing major, we're not painting any walls, just replacing a few things to make it look more girly and adding some new decorations. It's been fun because I've done most of it myself. I saw this cute wall hanging at Pottery Barn Kids for $50 and decided I could make something exactly like it for probably $20 if I buy everything at Hobby Lobby and put it all together myself. So I made a trip to Hobby Lobby today and Lone Star Baby to get the letters, and when I had everything I needed I had spent a grand total of $52. So much for beating Pottery Barn's price! But it was a lot of fun to make and I like it better than the one in the store!
Here's what I did:

I bought a canvas and 1 yard of fabric
and hot glued the fabric on the back of the canvas

Ft. Worth Zoo
This weekend we headed over to Ft. Worth to visit Aunt Stacey, Nana, and Pops and take Audrey to the zoo. Stacey just moved into her new place a week ago and starts her new job at Cook Children's this week! Audrey loved seeing all the animals at the zoo and being outdoors. But it was so HOT that we were all pretty much melting after 30 minutes. We pushed on and finished seeing all the animals and Audrey fell asleep as soon as we got in the car and blasted the A/C! Here are a few pics.

Broccoli....it's whats for dinner!
Audrey was so funny last night at dinner! She does this spitting thing at random times and last night she was doing it during dinner. I was trying to get her to laugh because she's also started laughing out loud which is so cute but it sounds more like a cough! She ended up eating all of her steamed broccoli in the end, with just a few pieces of avocado left, and I figured out that by taking the tomato skin off she can eat it a lot better. We are officially in transition to solids! She's loving this much more than pureed foods.
We love love love blueberries!
